The program this evening will be presented by Jacqueline Stackhouse Leach, Health Educator in Injury Prevention program at
MorristownMedicalCenter. Jackie will speak about a Carfit Program offered for Seniors and touch on child passenger safety as it relates to grandparents providing day care for their grandchildren. She will also talk about how falls have become the number one reason individuals visit the Emergency Room and the most common reasons for their falls.
Jackie Stackhouse Leach is a lifelong resident of
Chester, NJ and has been a volunteer Chester First Aid Squad member for 23 years. In October of 2016, Jackie was awarded the AAA Community Service Award for her work with Prevention Works in the area of Child Passenger Safety which, due to her efforts, has spread from CPS for passenger cars to ambulances, school busses, and children with special needs. AAA was most impressed that her work embraced the 5 pillars of character for Atlantic Health: Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence.
Jackie also received the Essex County Traffic Safety Award and the GDL Champion Award for teaching teen driving.
