Holiday Pledge and Champion School Project

As a community NJ has been concentrating on stopping the spread of COVID -19. While we cannot let our guard down on this lethal virus, we need to keep Injury Prevention Initiatives active as well. New Jersey Manufacturers (NJM) has a few exciting programs for individuals to participate and schools to participate in. Please see the letter below.

NJM has a  few exciting safety initiatives we’re offering that I want to share with you. The first is our Just Drive Holiday Pledge. As I’m sure you know, distracted driving is responsible for more than 390,000 injuries and 3,500 deaths every. During the holidays, distracted driving is more prevalent due to increased travel, stress, and driver fatigue. This year, our goal is to help drivers avoid the perils of distracted driving by making the commitment to Just Drive while contributing to a great cause. NJM is donating $1 to the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey for every pledge we receive up to $5,000 in support of the amazing work they do. Additionally, when you take the pledge, you will be automatically be entered to win one of three NJM gift packs (includes an Apple iPad, NJM roadside emergency kit, and NJM backpack). Visit https://justdrive.njm.com/pledge/ to take the pledge today! Please note this is for all New Jersey drivers.

I’m also proud to announce that we’ve partnered with the Brain Injury Association to launch a Just Drive PSA Contest for New Jersey high schools. First prize is $15,000, second prize is $10,000 and third prize is $5,000. This year, BIANJ is graciously allowing high schools to use their Just Drive PSA as their Champion Schools project entry. This means schools have the opportunity to win up to $25,000 for their driver education and safety initiatives! I’m attaching a flyer here.

Finally, in support of high schools moving to virtual learning, our teen driver safety programs are now available online. In addition to Share the Keys, we are now offering What Do You Consider Lethal, an evidence-based, award-winning program created by our partners at Impact Teen Drivers, a non-profit dedicated to saving lives by empowering people to drive safer. This engaging program is designed to help teens avoid reckless and distracted driving by making responsible decisions. Schools can register for their presentation by visiting us at https://justdrive.njm.com/online/.

If you can forward this to your network of contacts, we’d really appreciate the support. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your service and for all you do to make our roads safer!
