The Madison School District is ready to "Stop the Bleed". Over 150 teachers participated in the American College of Surgeons Class on October 9th as part of a teacher instructional day.
The Trauma Service of Morristown Medical Center provided the didactic and hands on instruction. The ABC's (Alert, identify Bleeding and Compress) were well defined.
All of those participating learned how to compress and pack a wound and put on a tourniquet. "These are life skills", say Renay Durling Gover the Trauma Manager.
These few steps can save a life.
