National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event aims to enhance relationships between neighbors and law enforcement to help make our neighborhoods safer and bringing back a true sense of community.
In an effort to partner with our local law enforcement departments, Northern NJ Safe Kids/ Safe Communities works with the Law Enforcement Departments to find out what is an important safety subject to the residents of each town.
This year, booster seats and bike helmets were two of the top subjects. We worked to obtain bike helmets and booster seats and secured staff to educate all.
These partnerships are very important and we hope to continue a fun and educational session at each event.
