Northern NJ Safe Kids / Safe Communities, Morristown Medical Center's Trauma Service and the Morris County Park Commission have partnered to have a Lifejacket Loaner Station at Lee's Marina in Lake Hopatcong.
Through a grant program form the Sea Town Foundation, a Lifejacket Loaner Station Rack and Lifejackets were provided to give community residents access to PDFs when boating.
Lee's Marina was chosen as the spot to house the stations since it is one of the busiest boating entry spots on Lake Hopatcong.
Our hope is the community members will use the Lifejackets when boating. Not only for children but for adults as well.
"You never know when a water emergency may take place on the water, so you must be prepared noted", KJ Feury the Injury Prevention Coordinator for Morristown Medical Center.
"We hope the Lifejackets are well worn by the end of the summer", said Feury. "That will be the best sign of usage".
If you need a Lifejacket for water use, you just need to take it from the rack and return it when your boating day ends.
We thank the Sea Tow Foundation for all their assistance in supporting this program.
