Northern NJ Safe Kids / Safe Communities

Pedestrian Safety is a shared responsibility!

On December 14, 2010 Northern NJ Safe Kids / Safe Communities was awarded an $8,825.00 grant to implement a Distracted and Impaired Driver Resource Program in Morris, Sussex and Warren County.

Arlene Lester from the Public Affairs Department was very impressed with the interactive aspect of the program.

A hands on demonstration of Distracted Driving through the use of a Distract a Match will be one of the tools available. Activities using the Fatal Vision Goggles will simulate various levels of impairment.

KJ Feury RN , APN the Injury Prevention Coordinator at Morristown Memorials Trauma Service is excited about working with teens, young adult and mature adults. We are partnering with local state farm agents, schools, civic groups and municipalities to heighten awareness to distracted and impaired driving.
