Why should you wear a seat belt in the back seat?

Seat belts needed in all seating positions!

Is everyone in your car wearing a seat belt? Research tells us that more than a quarter of adults admit they don't always buckl up in the back seat.

Adults are less likely to use a seat belt in the back seat of a hired car. This includes taxis, cabs, uber, lynx and limousine services.

The forces of physics are not suspended in the back seat, says Jessica Jermakian and Senior research engineer at Institute for Highway Safety.

Will reminders work? Well 2/4 of those who took part in a IIHS survey said they would be more likely to buckle up in the back if someone else in the car reminded them.

Lesson... drivers take the lead. Be sure all are buckled before you start driving.
