Safety Town in Vernon!
The Vernon PAL host safety town for its incoming kindergarden students each year. Northern NJ Safe Kids / Safe Communities presented the bicycle safety and school bus safety modules.
The presentations highlighted:
Helmet Use, Rules of the road and reflective gear when it came to bicyle safety. Each child participated in exercies that identified the danger zone around a school bus, how to enter and exit a bus, use of a seat belt, bus manners and how to evacuate through the back emergency door.
Lots of questions were answered. I think these children are ready to roll on a bike and school bus.
