Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, with drivers more likely to be involved in a crash during their first 12-24 months behind the wheel.
Sgt. Rod Smith and Patrolman Ron Mosner, have led the effort for the department by participating in many events throughout the year.
But there is some bad news as well: accidental injuries remain the number one cause of death for children ages one to 14, even though many of these deaths can be prevented.
